Declarations
Every judge and every justice declares publicly on appointment and annually. The Inspectorate verifies compliance.
Article 204(4): judges declare publicly, on appointment and annually, their contributions under Article 70, the associations to which they belong, their property under Article 74, and every interest capable of affecting the office. The declarations are published and are verified by the Inspectorate.

Verification of May 2026. One discrepancy disclosed, and proceedings opened.
Verification
Each declaration is checked against the property record under Article 74 and against the register of associations. A discrepancy is put to the declarant, and the answer is recorded. Where the discrepancy discloses a concealed interest, Article 206(1) makes it a ground of disciplinary liability and the Inspectorate opens proceedings.
The Office of Democratic Integrity receives, verifies and publishes the declarations required by Article 204(4) under Article 260(1), and publishes any discrepancy under Article 260(2). The Inspectorate verifies compliance within the judiciary, and the two verifications are conducted on the same declarations.
Incompatibilities
The office of judge is incompatible with a seat in the Assembly, with membership of an executive committee, with delegation to a planning body, with the offices of Title IX, with membership of the Ecological Budget Authority, with command in the forces, with office in a party, and with a management organ of an enterprise, a federation or a public establishment.
A judge returns on the expiry of a term to a contribution under Article 70(6), retains the provision of every resident, and takes no function in a foreign economic entity for three years. The Office of Democratic Integrity verifies compliance with that provision under Article 260(4).
Provision
The provision of a judge does not differ from that of any other resident, and Article 126(1) and (2) apply. A declaration of property under Article 74 is verified against that footing.
