Sleeper cars on ordinary trains

On the long routes, there is a sleeper car at the rear of every train. A room has two bunks, folded blankets and a lamp, and the door locks from the inside.

The car

  • Two bunks

    Lower and upper, 1,900 by 700 mm. Blankets folded at the foot, and a pillow is present in the locker above the door.

  • A lamp and a switch

    One lamp over each bunk, dimmed from the bunk itself. The corridor light does not enter the room when the door is shut.

  • A door that locks

    From the inside, by a physical button. Staff can release it from the corridor in an emergency and by no other means.

  • Amenities

    A water tower and a lavatory are available at the end of the car.

Seats, for those who stay in them

Every carriage bears the same letter and the same seats. There is no first class anywhere on the network, and no compartment a person is kept out of.

Seats recline on the long runs. The R7 and R9 have a reclining seat with a footrest on services over four hours, and a table bay at every fourth pair. The R8 and the shorter units for shorter runs have fixed seats.

A hot drink and something to eat. The long services have a trolley offered by the route group, and the four central stations have a canteen open whenever trains run.
