145 stations, four sizes
A station in the Republic is sized by the trains that call there, and every size has the same three things: a board with the times, shelter that is warm in winter, and a way to reach a person. Gates stand at the intercity platforms and nowhere else.
- 145 stations

The four things on a concourse
-
The board
Split-flap, driven from the timetable and the position feed together. It turns over on a change and again a minute before departure. Every board shows the same information as the application.
-
The machine
Issues a card, reads one, writes the display language, prints the paper form, and lists the sections with their journey times. It asks for a language and nothing else.
-
The gate
Stands open. It records that a journey was made, so each route group learns how many people use its lines. Nineteen stations have them, all on intercity platforms. Nothing is charged and no balance is read.
-
The counter
A person who does everything the machine does, and the things it cannot: a card for someone whose hands will not work a panel, a section explained, a wheelchair space reserved on the train.
At a machine on the Lindoma concourse
This is a list a machine at Lindoma Central would offer, in the order it shows them. A section is chosen so the record says where the journey went; the time beside it is the published one, measured against the margin in the conditions of carriage.

Around the platform
-
Warmth
Every shelter on the network is heated between November and March, including the halts. The heating is on the station account, and a shelter that is cold is a fault to report.
-
Water and a lavatory
Drinking water on every staffed station, and a lavatory that is open whenever the station is. Neither is charged for anywhere.
-
Left luggage
There are lockers at the four central stations, taken by a card presented at the door. After the card has been presented, a station worker moves the bag to the office and leaves a note in the locker.
-
Bicycles
Racks under cover at every station, and a bicycle can travel in the vestibule of any train without a reservation.
