How the lexicon is kept

An entry is added when the academy has found the word in use in two sub-regions, or in one sub-region and in print. A sense is added to an existing entry on the same footing. Nothing is removed for being coarse; a word is removed only when the survey can no longer find anybody who uses it, and the removals are listed in the decisions.

The file is published in the open and may be taken and used by anybody, for any purpose, with no condition attached: lexicon.js. The academy asks only that a copy which has been altered says so.
