What the academy is for
A language with no official status has no register of record and no ministry to keep one. It has a large number of speakers who need to be understood quickly, in a clinic, on a platform, in a queue, and in the seconds before an earthquake. The academy exists to establish what those speakers already say, to record it accurately, and to publish the record without charge.
Where usage is divided, the academy gives both forms. Where usage is settled, it records the settled form and marks it recommended. It does not correct a person who says the other thing, and no cooperative, commune or court is bound by a word printed here.
