What to say to nobody

These are current, everybody knows them, and each one is an accusation. They are printed because a person who does not know what they mean will meet them within a week.

Laku noc maimune.

Good night, monkey. Said of a politician, never to a person you mean no harm to.

Sali stronz.

A greeting in form and an insult in fact.

Ia trenu dan curtz.

I can only give you some shit. Directorate wall writing; coarse and still current.

Ia materinu.

I produced rotten work. It means incompetence, and in most use corruption with it.

Se trembuja materinu.

The works are rotten. A formal accusation once printed; the reply is calitatev negativ.

Xuclar.

Corrupt. Naming a person xuclar in a meeting is a matter for the audit office, not for the room.

The academy takes no view on whether these should be said. It records that they are said, what they mean, and to whom they are addressed. Materinu and xuclar in particular are formal accusations when printed, and a cooperative named in either has to answer for the whole job.
