The federation tests against these because they are what people here run. No client is blocked, and any client implementing the protocol connects.
Channels1,340 communes and six standing rooms
Standing channels
Each of these exists on IRC and on Matrix at the same name, and a message sent on one appears on the other.
- Your commune#lindoma-centreOne channel for every commune.
- Line faults, live#faultsThe fault desk posts here as it works. Read-only except for reports.
- The register#registerEvery publication of the Public Register, as it appears.
- Assemblies#assembly-lindomaOne per sub-regional assembly, running during sittings.
- Repair and tool libraries#repairFor questions before a device is opened.
- The federation itself#telephonyWhere the federation's operators answer questions in public.
IdentityAny number of identities
Identity on the services
Resident identity and further identities
The resident identity works on both services without registration. Beyond that, a resident may keep any number of further identities under names of their own choosing, without giving a reason.
The federation keeps no link between a resident's identities. No table exists in which such a link could be written, and the audit checks for the absence of one.
Moderation without logs
Channel operators are elected by the people in the channel and act on what is in front of them. There is no message history for the federation to consult, no reporting queue holding old traffic and no appeal based on earlier messages.
Moderation is therefore weaker. The Republic has decided against any rule whose enforcement requires records of all users.
