Consolidation
The consolidated text is kept current, with every amendment incorporated and every superseded version retained.
Article 314(1): a consolidated version, incorporating every amendment in force, is published in the public register, without charge, in open and machine-readable form, and in every language of record.
Article 314(2): consolidation is completed within thirty days of the entry into force of an amendment, and the superseded versions remain published with the dates between which each was in force.
Article 314(3): publication includes an index, a table of every cross-reference, and a record of the amendment history of each article.
Versions
| Date | Standing | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 7 July 2026 | In force | Commencement of the Constitution. First consolidated version published on the day. |

| 1 March 2024 | Repealed | Second Constitution. Held in the archive with the dates between which it was in force. |
| 15 December 1890 | Repealed | First Constitution of the Republic. Eleven articles. |
The repealed constitutions are held in the archive of the register with the dates between which each was in force.
The thirty days
An amendment entering into force starts a period of thirty days within which the consolidated text must incorporate it. Until consolidation is complete, the register carries both the standing text and the amendment, so that a reader is never left with a text known to be out of date and no notice of it.
No amendment has been made since commencement on 7 July 2026, so the consolidated version is the text as approved.
The table of cross-references
Every reference from one article to another is recorded, in both directions. The table shows what each article cites and what cites it, which is how a failed reference becomes visible. Two failures stand in the current coherence report.
The table is published in open and machine-readable form alongside the text, and the register uses it to generate the reverse citations on each article page.
Languages and formats
Article 314(1): publication in every language of record.
Article 316(4): editions in every language of record, in large print, in braille, in audio, in easy-read form, and in the formats accessibility requires.
Article 314(4): no version, edition, translation or format is made subject to a charge.
The open data
The text, the summary, the cross-reference table and the amendment history are published as data, in open and machine-readable form. Article 109(5) requires the systems that publish them to run on free and open software whose source is public, and Article 301 requires public information systems to operate without the consent, licence, account or continued existence of any foreign supplier.
