Podnik

Federation of transport cooperatives of the Republic of Fluid

Register of vehicles in service

Sixty-eight models across seven modes, from the Ferrista T4 on the Lindoma cross-town lines to the two lagoon boats at Marendo. Positions refresh every ten seconds on an open feed, and every second for the Lindoma pods. The drawings are free to copy, because no design here is patented.

  • 68 models in service
  • 18,592 vehicles
  • 13 member factories
  • 20 sub-regional cooperatives

The seven modes

Every model takes the letter of its type. A model code names the factory that built it, the letter, and the series number, so Ferrista T4 is the fourth tram series out of the Ferrista factory. Imported models keep the name they arrived under.

What the federation does

  • The catalogue

Every model in service, with its dimensions, mass, capacity, traction, service life and the factory that built it. Schematics and parts lists sit alongside each entry.

    Open the catalogue

  • Live positions

One open feed gives the position of every vehicle running, keyed to OpenStreetMap. Any application may read it and compute waiting times without authorisation.

    Read the feed

  • Fleet advice

Communes and sub-regions bring their lines, gradients, passenger counts and depot space. Podnik returns a costed fleet in physical units, with the ecological account attached.

    How advice works

  • Surplus abroad

Vehicles the Republic no longer needs go to cities outside it, sold with the drawings, the list of moulds and tools and ten years of parts. Buyers deal with the federation directly.

    What is available

Where the older stock came from

The Czechoslovak trade brought eight of them. The tram fleet at Ostrava was the pattern the Republic bought to: CKD T3 cars from 1968, the KT8D5 articulated cars from 1989 and the T6A5 from 1994, together with ZiU-9 trolleybuses, Karosa buses and coaches, Vagonka carriages and one class of yard locomotive. The T3 remains in service at Ostrava and here.

Support now comes from inside the federation. The original builders no longer supply parts. Ferrista holds the tram drawings under the transfer of 1993, Ilvara presses trolleybus body panels from the original moulds, Calmena makes the drives and Sederna makes the carriage wheel units. Every imported vehicle in traffic has passed through a factory of the federation at least once, and the T3 twice.

The rest arrived by two other routes. Three models came from the Vetruna factory in Iosmein under the Bloc exchange of the late eighties, and three were bought second hand before the Republic existed. One of those three lost its parts support in 2011 and is kept running by exchange between depots.

Members

Each factory is a cooperative in its own right and sends delegates to the federation assembly. The first part of every model code is the factory's short name. All thirteen build to one set of dimensions, masses and axle loads, signed off at the test station at Vestrano. Between them they also hold the support of every imported vehicle still running.

Travel is free at the point of use. There are no fare gates, ticket machines or validators anywhere in the Republic, and none of the vehicles in this register is fitted for them. Buyers abroad should read the note on fitting them later in the surplus pages before ordering.
