Federation of transport cooperatives of the Republic of Fluid

For cities outside the Republic

A fleet renewal here leaves good vehicles with decades of service life remaining. They go to cities outside the Republic with the drawings, the list of moulds and tools and ten years of parts, and the federation adds no margin to the cost of making them.

The sale

  • The drawings

Complete, including every bracket. No design is patented and no part of the documentation is withheld, so a buyer who wants to build the next batch themselves may do so and owes the federation no payment for it.

  • The parts

Ten years guaranteed from delivery, at the price of making them. After that the drawings remain, and any workshop anywhere can make parts from them.

  • The list of moulds and tools

What moulds, guides and holders the work needs, with the drawings for those too. Buyers taking a whole class can also order the moulds and tools with it.

  • Two weeks of fitters

Two mechanics from the factory that built the vehicle spend two weeks at the buyer's depot at the start, and answer the telephone afterwards.

Before ordering

No vehicle in this register has ever collected a fare. Travel is free at the point of use in the Republic and there are no fare gates, ticket machines or validators anywhere in it. Nothing sold here is wired, cut or braced for them.

Fitting them later is possible and requires substantial work. A validator needs a supply, a mounting and a data path, and on the older trams it needs a hole in a structural pillar. The federation will supply the structural drawings showing where a pillar may be cut and where it may not. It does no fare equipment work itself.

Doorway flow changes when a validator is fitted. The times spent at stops in the catalogue were measured with open doorways and free boarding. An operator fitting validators should allow for longer stops and say so in the timetable.

Procedure

  1. Writing to the federation

Name the lot, the operator, the network it is going to and the supply it will run on. Enquiries arrive at any communal office or through the federation directly.

  2. The account travels with the vehicle

Every lot leaves with its build and running accounts, and the buyer publishes them. A vehicle with thirty years of service life remaining is valued above its material content, and the account is how that is shown.

  3. Payment in euro

Through the External Currency Translation Cooperative, which holds the licences on each side of the border. The federation quotes the cost of the work and the materials, and adds nothing to it.

  4. Two conditions

The buyer runs the vehicles in public service and does not resell them to a state the Republic has found life-limiting.
