Out of the register

A vehicle stays in the catalogue for as long as some factory will make its parts. For these twelve, no factory remained. The reason is recorded for each of them, and so is what survives.

The rule

A model leaves the register when no factory will make its parts. While a factory will make a frame, a bearing or a controller, the model stays in the catalogue however old it is. The T3 is fifty-eight years old and is in the catalogue. What ends a model is the day the last factory refuses the work, usually because the drawings are incomplete, the material is no longer made, or the frame itself has rusted past repair.

The decision is published with its reasons. The federation assembly takes it, the operating cooperatives and the user assemblies are heard first, and the positions taken against it are recorded. Any person may ask why a model was retired and receive a reasoned answer.

Withdrawal from service is distinct from scrapping. Vehicles are taken apart for the parts that keep others running, the factory keeps one complete example of each model it built, and what remains goes back to the material accounts. Ferry hulls go to the yard at Lutoliluri.

Withdrawn

Ordered by mode. Years in service counts from the first vehicle in service to the last one out.

  • FER T1

    Ferrista Factory · 1951 to 1994

Wooden body frames on a steel floor frame. By the last years the frames were rotting faster than they could be replaced, and no factory would take on the woodwork.

  • ZIU B5

    ZiU, Engels · 1971 to 1993

  • KAR SM11

    Karosa, Vysoké Mýto · 1968 to 1998

    Karosa, Vysoké Mýto · 1962 to 1987

Approaching

These are in the catalogue today and will leave it on the dates shown, subject to the assembly.

  • Support ended 2011

    KRN C2

Seventy-five coaches in Ombraqui, held together by exchange between depots. The federation has published the frame drawings it holds so that a factoryshop willing to make the sections may. No workshop has yet offered.

  • Leaves service from 2029

    VET B4

325 Iosmein buses at the end of the design life. Vetruna offered a licence for the pressed body panels in 2024 and the assembly declined it, since the B12 is easier to maintain.

  • Leaves service from 2030

    KAR B731

140 buses in the reserve fleets. Supported at Tavrino since 2004. The floor panels are starting to rust through.

  • Last cars out 2031

    COR M1

The original Lindoma metro stock, 96 cars, at fifty-two years. Cortius will hold parts to the last day.
